Stinging Insect Control

Wasp & Hornet Removal in Middle Tennessee

Wasps, hornets, and yellow jackets — professional nest treatments and prevention for homes, businesses, and outdoor commercial spaces.

About This Pest

About stinging insects in Middle Tennessee

Identification

Wasps and hornets are territorial stinging insects that build nests in eaves, soffits, sheds, playsets, and ground burrows. Unlike honeybees, they can sting repeatedly and become aggressive when the nest is disturbed.

Common species in Middle Tennessee

In Middle Tennessee we treat paper wasps (open umbrella nests under eaves), yellow jackets (ground nests and wall voids — the most aggressive), bald-faced hornets (large gray football-shaped nests), and mud daubers (solitary, less aggressive).

Behavior

Colonies grow through the summer and are most aggressive in late summer and fall as food sources dwindle. Ground-nesting yellow jackets can be especially dangerous around lawn equipment.

Where they're commonly found

Eaves, soffits, gable vents, shed roofs, deck rails, playsets, ground burrows in landscaping, dumpster corrals, dock doors, and inside wall voids.

Warning Signs

Signs you have wasps & hornets

  • Visible paper or mud nests under eaves or overhangs
  • Steady wasp traffic to a single spot on the house or ground
  • Aggressive behavior when mowing or working near a specific area
  • Buzzing sounds inside walls or attic
  • Yellow jackets clustered around trash, patios, or outdoor dining
Why It Matters

Why wasps & hornets are a problem

Health risks

Wasp and hornet stings can cause serious allergic reactions — including anaphylaxis in sensitive individuals. Yellow jackets in particular can sting multiple times and cause repeat injuries.

Property impact

Wall-void nests can eventually stain drywall or cause moisture issues. Ground nests near walkways and playsets are a repeated injury risk for families and guests.

Business implications

For restaurants with patios, warehouses with dock doors, and hospitality properties, active wasp nests are both a guest-safety issue and a liability concern. Our commercial program includes scheduled exterior inspections through wasp season.

Our Process

How we treat wasps & hornets

  1. 1

    Thorough Inspection

We walk the interior and exterior to identify species, harborage, and pressure points — not just the activity you can see.

  2. 2

    Identify the Source

Treatment only works when we know where the pest is actually coming from. We trace it back to the source before applying anything.

  3. 3

    Targeted Treatment

The right product for the right species in the right place — applied strictly according to label directions.

  4. 4

    Prevention & Monitoring

Ongoing exterior service, monitoring, and follow-ups so the problem doesn't come back a month later.
